Looking ahead

Summer is coming to a close. Where has the time gone. Soon schools will be open and new activities will begin. Now is the time to look ahead for the coming year.
When I was in Wyoming visiting family, I went up on the bluff which overlooked the town. From there you could see for a long distance. The houses where small the train going by was very little but long in length. It was a sight to see. Not only was the landscape awesome but so was the sky. You could really appreciate the handy work of God our Creator.
As I was up there I could see where I was heading the next day. I could look ahead to see in the direction I would be going. I could see the road and the traffic on it. As I reflect on that day I think on how we need to look ahead. Whats our destination.? Where are we headed.? Yes it might seem like it is far away. But when you remain focused on it and move toward your destination it becomes closer and more in focus and bigger. Soon you can see you are almost there.
What are you looking ahead to? Does it seem out of reach? When I look ahead and feel overwhelmed I remember Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. What a wonderful promise. My God is with me wherever I go. I don't need to be afraid. I do not need to fear looking ahead. Instead I can look ahead knowing He is with me. I don't need to fear the future. I can look ahead knowing He is with me.
You too can stand on this promise from God. You can look ahead knowing He is with you.
