Christmas 2023

Merry Christmas to you all.

In our world today with all the turmoil going on, we see the need for a savior. The wars, identity crisis, loss of morals shows us the need for a savior. The good news is there is one Jesus Christ. During the Christmas season we get to celebrate His birth. The night Jesus was born the angles came to announce His birth. In Luke 2:9-11 we find this account.

⁹ An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. ¹⁰ But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. ¹¹ Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. Yes the angle did say this is good news for all people. This is great news but only for the ones who believe and search for Him. Yes unfortunately there are those who reject this good news. They miss out on the joy God gives us through Jesus.

We are seeing people trying to take away Jesus out of the Christmas season. That is why they say happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas. I experienced this recently. I went to the musical White Christmas. After they got done singing White Christmas The wished everyone a happy holiday. Here is a musical about having a white Christmas yet they couldn't say merry Christmas to the audience, They chose to take Christ out of it. I found this ironic.

Christmas is not about all of the gifts. Not about the gatherings or sales. Take them all away and we still have Christmas. The birth of our Lord and Savior of this world. Like in the ending of Grinch. We still have the love and grace God gives us through His Son Jesus Christ. As Paul reminds us in Romans 6:23

New Expreirences

New experiences

This past week I was at the Ingham county fair. I went down with my family to watch three of my grand kids to show their pigs and rabbits. While we were there they did a exhibition show with younger kids and kids that have not shown animals. This was a new experience for the kids. My grand kids from Wyoming were able to show pigs and rabbits. They were so excited. They had a new experience that they couldn't have at home. Yes they asked their mom if they could take pigs and rabbits home with them.

In Life we do have opportunity to have new experiences. Sometimes they come whether we want them to or not. The best new experience I recommend is a life with Jesus Christ. A life with Christ does give you hope, joy peace,a sense of belonging, and love. Every day is a new experience with Him. In the Bible Mark 5 tells of a man who was demon filled and controlled. This man had a encounter with Jesus. Jesus cast out the demons within this man. This man had a new life ,a new beginning, a new experience, he was free from the demons. This man was so excited about this new experience that he didn't want to leave Jesus side. But we see in chapter 5 verse 19 Jesus tells him to go home and report the great things the Lord has done for him and how The Lord had mercy on him. What a great experience this man had to be freed from the demons. Maybe you have demons in your life you want to get rid of Jesus can help.

I remember when I first really believed in Jesus. When I truly gave my life to Him. It was a new and great experience to give it all to Jesus. I was in Jr High. I can tell you through the years I have experienced new things in my life because of Jesus. I have had healings. I experienced His peace in tragedy and I experienced His Love. Every day I look forward to living with Jesus. That doesn't mean I have it all together all the time. I Don't. But I have it all together more than if I would without Him. God is good and He wants us to be with Him. He has a great plan for your life with new experiences. Great experiences if you follow Him. The new experience might not be showing a pig but it will be one that will impact your life and maybe the life of someone else. Take the plunge have a new experience with Jesus Christ. Call on His name. Believe in Jesus and follow Him and may your life be filled with hope, peace, joy and Love.

Stories that can change your life.

In the Bible we find many stories of people who have been impacted by their relationship with God.

This summer we are going through some of the Bible stories. Seeing how God worked in their lives and how through these stories our lives can change. The story of David is a great example. We first meet David as a youth. He was the shepherd for the family since he was the youngest. We see Davids faith and trust in the Lord grew while he was in the fields with the flocks. Because David experinced God in everyday life we see he had a faith that was unshakable. A faith so strong that he faced a giant and won. We also see through David what real friendship looks like. The story of David and Johnathon is about a friendship that is strong and unbreakable. No matter the circumstance or situation their friendship lasted even after Johnathon was killed. David took care of his son. The story of David also shows us a vulnerable man. A man who became king and fell for his fleshly desires. Then we see his repentance for his sins and how God forgave and restored David. This story can change your life. God is in the business of restoring lives. A God who wants you to know Him and be a part of Him.

The ultimate story that can change your life is the one about Jesus. God's only Son . Who He sent to this earth to reunite all mankind to Him. This is a great love and redemption story. God shows us His love by sending Jesus to this world so that who ever believes in Him would be saved and would have everlasting life. Jesus came to this world not only to show us Gods love but to also to bring all who believes into the presence of God. Jesus is the bridge over the gap that has separated us from God since the first sin of Adam and Eve. Jesus came so we might have life. He came to take the punishment for our sins. Your sins. Jesus died on the cross. He was buried then on the third day He rose from the grave. Once for all defeating death. Now Jesus is preparing a place for all who believes in Him. The greatest story that can change your life.

Then we see the stories of Peter , John and Paul. Who went though trials and torture for their faith in Jesus and never backing down on their belief or faith in Jesus. They wrote how we as believers need to stay true to our faith and not fall to false teachings. Their stories can change our lives. God gives us these stories to impact our lives. So we can find Him in the fog of this world.

But the Stories doesn't stop there. There are people around us that can share how God has worked in their lives. They can share how God has changed their story. Sometimes we call them praise time. Some even call these God sightings. Maybe you are the one who has a story of how God has changed your life. Share your story who knows maybe it is your story the helps them to find and believe in the living God.

White as snow

Finally Winter Snow

We started with a warm winter. Many times it rained instead of snowing. But now as winter is getting close to end we have been blessed with snow. Last week we had 9 inches of snow. This past Monday we received about 8 inches of snow. This weekend they are calling for another dumping of snow. I can't wait. We haven't had snow like this for a while.

Yesterday we had sunshine and the reflection off of the snow was almost blinding.

Every winter as the snow come it reminds me of Isaiah 1:18 Where the Lord tells us he will make our sins white as snow. Meaning He will forgive us when we turn to Him and He will take out the stains of our sins through His forgiveness and clean us. Jesus came to this world to save us. To cleanse us from our sins,our unrighteousness. He will make us white as snow when we turn to him. This all happens because Jesus went to the cross for you and I. Jesus paid the price for our sins our unrighteousness. Because Jesus went to the cross our sins can be forgiven. For our wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. Because fo the sacrifice of Jesus our sins can be forgiven and your life can start a new. Having a fresh start with your life being white as snow. So when I see the fresh snow I am reminded of this great thing God has done for us. Cleansing us white as snow when we confess our sins to Him and give our live to Him. I hope when you see the snow it reminds you of how God cleans us and gives us a new life with Him.

This is a subtitle for your new post

Summer is coming to a close. Where has the time gone. Soon schools will be open and new activities will begin. Now is the time to look ahead for the coming year.

When I was in Wyoming visiting family, I went up on the bluff which overlooked the town. From there you could see for a long distance. The houses where small the train going by was very little but long in length. It was a sight to see. Not only was the landscape awesome but so was the sky. You could really appreciate the handy work of God our Creator.

As I was up there I could see where I was heading the next day. I could look ahead to see in the direction I would be going. I could see the road and the traffic on it. As I reflect on that day I think on how we need to look ahead. Whats our destination.? Where are we headed.? Yes it might seem like it is far away. But when you remain focused on it and move toward your destination it becomes closer and more in focus and bigger. Soon you can see you are almost there.

What are you looking ahead to? Does it seem out of reach? When I look ahead and feel overwhelmed I remember Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. What a wonderful promise. My God is with me wherever I go. I don't need to be afraid. I do not need to fear looking ahead. Instead I can look ahead knowing He is with me. I don't need to fear the future. I can look ahead knowing He is with me.

You too can stand on this promise from God. You can look ahead knowing He is with you.
